meaning to do for a long time, is to get all my customers with a good database/marketing
program, so I can market to my existing customers plus the thousands of customers that
have lapsed out in the last two years. Theres a gold mine right in my office, and I

4-5 months as well - a lot of these things were in your program, but you need everybody to
get some input to realize what you need to do. You need an environment like this to
realize that you need to do it. Just a couple quick things: I think the biggest thing was
to roll out a successful program and do it quickly. Weve been dabbling in this, and
we havent quit doing it, and weve made a real good return, but we havent
done enough of it. I think the testing method alone is probably the biggest thing I need
to do when I get back into the office. Also, expand the number of markets that I mail to
versus trying to limit to one certain niche. Try to have multi-markets at one time. The
value...I dont think we can put a value on it...a lot depends on us, what we use it
for, but I think the value would be unlimited, depending on what we put to use. Once
again, depending on what we put to use, Id say $100,000 commission income should be

Im no longer an insurance agent, but an insurance marketer. That also, tons of the

What Im going to do about it is....basically weve been mildly successful doing
nothing. Before I left to come down here, I e-mailed everybody in the office and told them
to be ready for insurance hell when I get back. Whats it worth? Actually Ive
come to the understanding that its not worth a penny to me unless I go back and do
something about it. I think with the tools Ive learned here, being an IPS member for
the last 6 months or so, is that we could probably double the size of our agency in one or
two years. Were about 5 million now." "The agency I own has been around for 110 years. I havent been around that
long, but the agency has. Weve never been a marketing agency; I left the agency to
come down here as a non-marketing person. Probably the biggest benefit will be that I will
leave here with excitement to market, some tools to use to market, and hopefully will be a
survivor. The benefit, dollar-wise, I dont know; but it will be significantly more

back with me. I think the management portion of it was probably more beneficial to me than
anything else. Ive known for some time that Ive got some changes that I have

doing efficiently in our office was getting referrals. Mikes idea.....Ive got
relationships with people that are 35 years old. Almost as old as I am, and Ive
never exploited those. The idea of getting leads is tremendous. So many concepts and
ideas; the gift, Jims concept, the creating the raving fan concept, its a
tremendous idea. How that leads into referrals from new customers is beautiful, and I
think thats where were going to see a tremendous increase in our agency, just
from our existing book of business. You dont have to spend a dime on a list,
its already there. Theyve already bought from you, I mean, how crazy is it not
to continue to sell to people whove already bought from you? So were going to
really exploit that. Im back here shaking my head like a fool, because I realize all
the things you guys have been doing and we should be doing, and utilizing Michaels
concepts, I think when we put that together, were going to see a couple hundred
